The deck I created can definitely stand toe to toe with quite a bit of competitive decks and can very much stand on its own against tuned decks.įor anyone wanting a cheap deck to get into, wants to constantly upgrade the deck, wants to get excited for each new sets black instant spells, this is your deck. This deck is the bane of most decks that heavily rely on creatures, rely heavily on their commander(s), and rely on their graveyard. The deck is very low to the ground, so the amount of spells per turn can be very explosive. Makes you really feel like a rogue samurai with a bounty if people target you. Every fight literally feels like a fight for my life, just trying to survive and wiping creature after creature. It is extremely cheap money wise to enter into, but can be upgraded to tuned, and even competitive. The deck runs a lot of interaction, so it is a unique black draw go deck. Those option from the graveyard a big part of what makes decks like these feel like a real dredge deck.]. I like anything you can cast from the grave, stuff like Demonic Embrace, Corpse Connoisseur, Rotting Rats, even something like Maximize Velocity isnt totally bad as it discards. Going 5 color you would get Unburial Rites and Sevinnes Reclamation targeting Animate/Dance of the Dead as more "prized amalgam" type ways to get threats on the battlefield using nothing but your graveyard. And Lord of Extinction + Berserk can always win some games. It's not going to ever be "competitive" with only combat damage to win but it feels like dredge. Since classic dredge threats like Prized Amalgam and Ichorid are just not going to get there in commander the cards that get big like Lord of Extinction and Sewer Nemesis and the cards you can get from the grave like Hogaak, Centaur Vinecrasher, Dread Return etc do a good job of replicating the playstyle. I love dredge and tried to replicate the playstyle as best I could. This is my dredge list with the 4 color non white nephilim as commander.
